text_space=&#8221;fontspace-781688&#8243; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;184379&#8243;]The Preventive Activities and Promotion Research Group (GRAPP-caIB) is a group of the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) that belongs to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idisba.es\/cat\/Recerca\/%C3%80rees-cient%C3%ADfiques\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research area of public health, epidemiology, clinical practice, and healthcare services.<\/a>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;143714&#8243;]It has been accredited and funded since 2003 by the Carlos III Health Institute and is also part of the RICORS RETIC, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciberesp.es\/\">Center for Biomedical Research in Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The group is composed of 27 researchers<\/strong> from different professional backgrounds, including medicine, nursing, psychology, biology, biochemistry, political science, statistics, and pharmacy. <strong>Its mission is to generate robust evidence on the efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of innovative interventions in health prevention and promotion, and to transfer this knowledge to professionals<\/strong>\u2014especially those in primary care and public health\u2014as well as to healthcare managers and the general population. The research conducted by the group in cancer, cardiovascular risk factors, and other areas of prevention and health promotion is highly applied: the knowledge generated is transferred to public health or to clinical practice in primary care.<\/p>\n<p>In our research studies, we use different methodologies, combining quantitative and qualitative research (mixed methods). Through surveys, interviews, and focus groups, we involve society in our projects. text_space=&#8221;fontspace-781688&#8243; uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;178810&#8243;]The Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa) was created on December 23, 2013.[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;874255&#8243;]<strong>It is composed of the Son Espases University Hospital, the Primary Care sector of Mallorca, the University Institute of Health Sciences Research (IUNICS), the Son Ll\u00e0tzer Hospital, and the Blood and Tissue Bank Foundation of the Balearic Islands.<\/strong> All of them contribute human capital, which makes it possible to increase the critical mass of researchers and foster collaborations for the development of research projects among services and professionals in the health sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IdISBa has been awarded the \u201cHR Excellence in Research\u201d recognition by the European Commission, certifying it as a research center committed to the continuous improvement of its human resources policies;<\/strong> an international provider of scientific jobs within a favorable and stimulating environment for the development of a research career, in accordance with the principles of the \u201cCharter &amp; Code\u201d (European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers), adopted by the EU in 2005.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IdISBa is committed to excellence in research and the promotion of technology and knowledge transfer to healthcare services and industries.<\/strong> In addition, it maintains that these objectives cannot be achieved without fostering and attracting outstanding scientific talent. For this reason, in order to carry out our studies, we work closely with people (both healthy individuals and those with specific health conditions), who represent the groups we aim to help.<br \/>\nThere are different ways through which you can collaborate in our research:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 <strong>Participation as a study subject<\/strong>, both in clinical trials and in studies conducted through surveys or discussion groups (also known as focus groups), among others. It should be noted that all our studies have been approved by both the Primary Care Research Committee and the Ethics Committee of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 <strong>Participation in outreach workshops or events<\/strong>, aimed at sharing and discussing with the public\/society the knowledge gained as a result of our research.
